Maintaining a Perfect Environment for Wound Healing

The  WoundGelSureKlot™ is a protonated chitosan-based hydrogel that gently rehydrates necrotic wound tissue, facilitating autolytic debridement. It provides an optimal moist environment during healing. It also prevents the entry of microbes into the wound by providing an active microbial barrier. Additionally, it relieves pain due to its cooling effect and the inherent ability of chitosan.

Technology

PBT™ Protonated Bioadhesive Technology

SureKlot™ WoundGel™ is made by mixing an aqueous solution of chitosan PBT™ (chitosan lactate) with purified water, glycerol and Polyhexamethylene biguanide.

This technique makes it possible to obtain a PBT™ hydrogel ideal for the rehydration of necrotic wounds and maintains a humid environment while increasing all of the inherent biological properties of Chitosan by maximizing its positive charge through protonated technology.

Mode of action:

SureKlot™ WoundGel™ gently rehydrates necrotic wound tissue and facilitates autolytic debridement.
It helps maintain an optimal humid environment promoting cell proliferation and accelerating the granulation phase and the final stages of healing. By achieving perfect sealing of the wound bed, it prevents the entry of microbes and bacteria by providing an active microbial barrier through its electrostatic action linked to its positive charge improved by PBT technology. Finally, it relieves pain thanks to its cooling effect and the inherent capacity of chitosan.

Recommended for

SureKlot™ WoundGel™ is recommended for the treatment of:

Fresh wounds, infected and necrotic wounds, pressure ulcers, chronic wounds such as diabetic foot ulcers or venous ulcers, cuts, scrapes and traumatic injuries, superficial and partial burns, autolytic debridement, donor sites and graft sites, post-operative wounds.

How to use it ?

Before applying WoundGel™, it is imperative to clean and rinse the wounds and edges with a suitable cleaning solution (preferably SureKlot™ spray). Subsequently, apply a sufficient quantity of WoundGel™ to evenly cover the wound bed as well as the edges with a thickness of 5 mm of gel.

For non-exudative wounds, use a standard secondary dressing.

For exudative wounds, preferably use a secondary occlusive dressing.

Reminder: Between applications, irrigate with saline/water solution to remove WoundGel™.
