Compressive cryotherapy

The benefits of cold, static compression and magnetism.

Technology

Cryotherapy (cold treatment) has been known since antiquity but only began to be applied to medicine in the 1970s. Through vasomotor, biochemical and neuroconduction phenomena, cold pressure produces several effects particularly beneficial in traumatology and in the postoperative aftermath. The lowering of the temperature locally causes a sort of anesthesia, which produces an analgesic effect (reduction of pain). The temperature and rate of tissue cooling influence vasomotor effects which, associated with pressure, generate vasoconstriction causing a reduction in blood flow. Following the application of cold, spinal reflex pathways produce a strong inhibition of gamma motor neurons and consequently a significant reduction in muscle tone; this has the effect of stimulating the healing of muscles and tissues.

Pressurized cold reduces metabolic activity by generating a strong reduction in the enzymes responsible for inflammation and their activity. Post-operatively, the inflammatory reaction has the role of evacuating “waste” from the body. It is therefore not a question of preventing it but on the contrary of encouraging it.

For an operated knee, for example, the inflammatory reaction is accompanied by side effects: edema, redness and heat. Applying cold will help reduce swelling and lower the temperature. The inflammatory reaction can then continue, and contribute to eliminating the waste resulting from the intervention, thus promoting recovery. The combination of these effects allows these splints to be an essential tool for faster recovery with facilitated rehabilitation and less painful.

Pets'Nov

Pets’NOV products combine the advantages of compression and cryotherapy. Cryotherapy linked to compression multiplies the effects of cold: analgesic effect, anti-hemorrhage effect, muscle relaxant effect and anti-inflammatory effect.

Pets’NOV compressive cryotherapy splints have been specially studied and designed to facilitate recovery after surgery, trauma, post-operative care in dogs.

This device should be used as prescribed by your veterinarian.

Equi'Nov: range of magnetic cryotherapy

Equi'Nov products are unique because they combine the advantages of compression, cryotherapy and magnetism. Cryotherapy linked to compression multiplies the effects of cold: analgesic effect, anti-hemorrhage effect, muscle relaxant effect and anti-inflammatory effect.Magnetic fabric is the result of mineralogy research technology. The combination of these minerals of oceanic origin mainly acts on the pH of the water molecule, the main constituent of living matter. The magnetic fabric (Blanket and products) helps reduce pain and swelling by stimulating blood circulation, accelerating the elimination of toxins and the healing process. Ideal for preparing muscles and tendons for exercise and for recovery.

Thanks to the action of several types of marine minerals at the very heart of the fibers thanks to the MInside process, Mémofibre offers new revolutionary perspectives in terms of treating pain of inflammatory origins and reducing stress. Due to its natural ionizing action, MInside allows synthetic fibers to act on the pH of intracellular liquids to stabilize it and bring it back to an optimal level for the well-being and balance of the body.
Cellular regeneration is thus promoted, which helps to reduce the pain felt.

What are the advantages ?

The Pets'Nov and Equi'Nov splints are unique and simple to use.

The cold pack always remains flexible after freezing to adapt perfectly to all body shapes and does not create frost to avoid burns. It directly integrates the air chamber and completely covers the joint. The use of hypoallergenic Lycra fabric offers comfort and protection to the animal.

The compression which multiplies the effect of the cold can be carried out manually using the pump supplied with each splint or automatically with the Cryo push.

Pets'Nov and Equi'Nov splints combine the advantages of restraint and cryotherapy, making them an essential ally to support and improve the animal's recovery. Many centers specializing in human, sports or prosthetic surgery have incorporated them into their post-operative care (RAAC, RRAC, RAC, etc.).

They consist of an immobilization splint, a cold pack system directly integrated into the inner tube and are inflatable using a manual pump included with the splint or Cryo Push. The compression obtained makes it possible to increase the penetration of the cold, deep into the tissues and to optimally match the anatomy of the treated limb. Pets'Nov and Equi'Nov splints are therefore particularly effective in providing an analgesic effect, reducing inflammation and edema, while helping to absorb hematomas. They thus constitute an extremely effective aid to rehabilitation and can be used both in post-operative or Rapid Recovery protocols... as well as for the management of pain felt during the occurrence of sprains (RICE protocol), tendonitis, strains. or muscle pain... A Lycra jersey (hypoallergenic and comfortable fabric) completes the pack to effectively protect the skin. The cold packs require at least 8 hours in the freezer (-18°C) to be at the right temperature. The splints remain flexible in order to optimally fit the treated joint. Their specific coating does not frost, to avoid any risk of skin burns.
